Most EHRs handle charges, but many do not have an easy way to handle the whole process of cosmetic retail management. Often times a healthcare location that sells physical product may need the capability to include packages for retail cosmetics at multiple locations, sending charges to another system, storing commission data by user, manage inventory, use barcode scanners where necessary, receive payments and integrate with loyalty programs and perform reporting.

Quick Appointment

At certain times, an end user of a system may find themselves in need of scheduling an appointment for a patient right there in the exam room, and the EHR may not be available tot ask the front desk staff to make the appointment with the patient. The patient may be in a hurry, the system might be down, or an end user may simply want the ease of use of scheduling an appointment more quickly that the current means.

PDE has created an small web app for smart devices that will accept a user input and allow a lookup of patient, provider, event, available template slots, the ability to choose one, and import into the EHR.

API Integration

Secure Texting (SMS)

Appointment Reminders

Far and away the largest need for SMS that we have seen thus far has been in the world of appointment reminders to patients. There are many solutions that exist today, all of them utilizing a secure hosting provider like Plivo, so securely sends the texts. We find that our price per text is lower than the industry standard, so if you’re considering a change to reduce costs, we’re at .01 cents per text.

Patient Accounts Receivable

More and more, however, we are solving for another challenge – sending texts to patients with remaining balances who then can reply and give consent to allow the organization to charge the credit card on the account for the small remaining balance.

Bulk Message Delivery

At times there may be a scenario where a patient isn’t yet loaded into the EHR, but there is a need to text several hundred of them to come in for an appointment from a referral.

PDE has developed an application that will harvest a list of patients that need referral call on a particular day, send a secure text message to each one using an API call to Plivo (a HIPAA compliant SMS vendor) and then log the action back into the EHR as a note in the location of Client’s choosing.
